The Verdict:
The Alienware M14x is easily the most powerful notebook we have tested.
Ideally suited for gamers that want desktop-like performance in a portable, the M14x will handle most games you throw at it with ease.
We played a variety of modern releases and all of them ran perfectly at the highest level of graphics.
The best thing about a gaming notebook is that it will perform just about any other graphically intensive task without a hitch, such as HD video editing.
Battery life was respectable, but can vary a lot depending on what it is used for.
Alienware must also be commended for its great design. While it is obviously bulky, the notebook looks fantastic with a red chassis and customisable lights.
The only disadvantage is the high price point, but it is worth it if you want to ensure your notebook will be powerful enough to last years down the track.
The entry-level option starts at $1799 for those wanting one a little bit cheaper.
