The Verdict:
Those that remember last years NEX-5 will feel right at home with the next ILC camera from Sony.
While you would be hard pressed picking any external design differences there are some significant improvements. The larger sensor takes beautiful images even on automatic settings, the movable viewfinder is great for getting hard to position shots and the burst shooting mode is a great addition.
The ability to shoot Full HD 1080p is also welcome, but this is unfortunately an area that has a significant problem. While filming the camera makes a strange ticking noise, while it is only slightly noticeable in real time, when you view it back the noise is almost unbearable and ruins any video captured. While it only occurs when moving the camera quickly, it is a serious design flaw.
Aside from this though, the camera is a good option, let just hope Sony will rectify the problem for customers.
The lenses available also need a refresh as they are too large and overwhelm the small body.
