It looks like EAs contender for game of the year is living up to the hype. According to the company, Battlefield 3 has sold over 5 million units in its first week on sale around the world.
This makes the realistic first person shooter the fastest selling game in EA’s history. It also managed to attract the company’s highest ever usage rates for online play.
Social media has also been abuzz throughout the launch period with over 2.5 million Facebook fans with new posts made every 9 seconds. Fans were also tweeting about the game every 10 seconds.
