The Verdict:
While it is a little different to the current crop of tablets doing the rounds, the Wacom Fun Pen and Touch lets you perform a variety of touch and pen controls on a PC or Mac.
While they may not get the same sort of attention the iPad attracts, Wacom’s range of tablets have always been a favourite amongst designers and photo editors, thanks to their intuitive controls and accurate pen input.
The Fun Pen and Touch is the flagship model in the consumer range and while it takes a little getting used to, it is a very practical option instead of a mouse.
Consumers simply control the onscreen cursor with swipes and gestures, like an oversized notebook trackpad. The included pen can also be used for more precise operation.
After playing with it for a while it becomes very simple to operate and is actually quite comfortable on the wrists. The fact that this pack also includes a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 9, Corel Painter Essential 4 and the Bamboo Scribe 3.0 software alone makes this great value for money.
While this isn’t for everyone, TT can highly recommend it for anyone sick of the of a boring mouse or wants a bit more control over their design work.
