The Verdict:
The eagerly anticipated Galaxy S III has finally arrived but has it lived up to the hype? You bet it has.
Last month we gave the HTC One X the title of best smartphone on the market, while the Galaxy S III doesn’t necessarily beat it, it can proudly sit alongside it as the best option out there.
In terms of performance, the Galaxy is lightning fast and we never witnessed any slowdown.
The display is very bright and can even be viewed in direct sunlight.
The touchscreen is one of the most responsive around and the camera has virtually no shutter-lag and takes exceptional shots.
Despite a huge screen, the Galaxy is really light at 133g and feels good in the hand.
While the glossy white chassis looks fantastic, it does have a plastic feel to it.
Samsung’s S Voice technology was a bit hit and miss at times but Smart Stay and Direct Call worked well. We liked the ability to watch a video and perform other tasks at the same time, while battery life was quite good too, easily getting through a solid day of heavy use.
Overall, there isn’t too much to dislike about this smarthone and it is definitely one of TTs favourites.
9.5/10
