Australia’s fourth largest telco, Virgin Mobile, has launched a new marketing campaign using some serious brother-of-star power to try and get customers to sign up.
Starring Doug Pitt, Brad Pitt’s younger brother, the “Fair Go Bro” campaign is designed to show Virgin’s dedication to offering a fair deal to all its customers, not just the celebrities out there.
To support the campaign, Virgin has cut back the number of its postpaid plans from nine to five, and is now offering every smartphone in its range on every plan, although that may involve some extra handset repayments on the lower value plans. In addition, customers who bring their own phones to the network will enjoy a $10 discount on their monthly repayments, as well as avoid being locked in to a 24 month contract.
The telco will be pushing its Doug Pitt campaign online through social media, before branching out to traditional media companies.
