How do you make a digital radio slash iPod, iPad and iPhone dock even better? Why, by adding in support for Apple’s wireless streaming technology AirPlay.
Pure has today announced the Australian availability of the Contour 200i Air, a $400 digital radio dock that lets you stream music from a PC, Mac or iOS device without needing any connected wires.
Impressively, the dock also enables users to set up the AirPlay functionality by simply docking an iOS device connected to your wireless network and pressing a dedicated Wireless setup button on the back of the machine. An ethernet port helps connect those without Wi-Fi, while a digital audio out means you can use the 200i as a hub for your home theatre experience.
With 36W RMS of digital sound, the 200i promises room-filling sound, while an included remote lets you control a docked iDevice from across the room. A free companion app also offers access to a full spectrum of international Internet radio stations, should you get bored with your own collection.
The Contour 200i is available now.
