The Verdict:
From a distance you would be forgiven for mistaking the new Lumia 900 as its little brother the Lumia 800, due to it sharing most of the same design cues. But when you get this device in your hands there is one noticeable difference.
The screen size has been bumped up to 4.3 inches and this makes the display look great. It is bright, clear and colours are vibrant. Its touch controls are also ultra responsive.
Battery life is a strong selling feature too, lasting well over a day with moderate use.
But this handset isn’t perfect. The Lumia 900 feels a little outdated when compared to other flagship handsets on the market. The processor is only single-core when others are now up to quad-core, there is no expandable memory and the Windows Phone OS still has a few shortcomings.
In addition, Nokia has said it won’t be upgradable to Windows Phone 8 in the future.
Overall, it is a solid handset but doesn’t really stand out from its predecessor.
8/10
